Music can make your day. One song playing at the right moment, perhaps with the right cup of coffee in your favorite mug, and the sun coming through the window, can really make life worth living. We here at American Songwriter think that songs are the oxygen for your spiritual lungs.

To that end, we wanted to share 13 new works of music to brighten your day and share the good word of composition. So, with that in mind, here are 13 songs for you today.
1. Bebe Rexha and David Guetta
Bebe Rexha and David Guetta came together for a new song that’s out this week, “One in a Million.” Fans can check out the duo’s rapturous party anthem, which follows the pair’s multi-billion streamed, Grammy-nominated hit, “I’m Good (Blue),” below.
2. Herb Alpert
Iconic songwriter, performer, record executive, and philanthropist Herb Alpert released his latest track, “East Bound And Down,” which is featured on his forthcoming album, Wish Upon A Star, out on September 15.
3. Dame D.O.L.L.A
Everyone’s favorite NBA star-turned lyricist, Damian Lillard (aka Dame D.O.L.L.A) is a world-class rapper and songwriter, as well as being a world-class basketball player. The dual-threat released his latest single this week, “Cabo,” which you can check out in all of its smoothed-out groove.
4. The Linda Lindas
The burgeoning rock group, The Linda Lindas, which features four young musicians and has already made global waves thanks to its hit song “Racist, Sexist Boy,” has released its latest music video for the track “Resolution/Revolution.”
5. Death Valley Girls
Los Angeles indie rock group Death Valley Girls, who are constantly and blissfully on tour, released their latest single, “I Am a Wave,” which comes on the heels of the band’s hit single, “Magic Powers.” The numinous rock group is one to cherish.
6. Jorja Smith
Emotive singer Jorja Smith released her latest music video for the single “Go Go Go.” The new work comes ahead of the artist’s forthcoming new album, Falling or Flying, out September 29. Check out the heart-racing, even vengeful offering below.
7. Grandaddy
Skilled songwriter Grandaddy released his latest single. The new track, “Derek Spears,” is the second single off the forthcoming special digital edition of Sumday: Excess Baggage, which itself is set to drop on August 25. Check out the vulnerable new work below.
8. Robert Finley
Fans of blues-rock artist Robert Finley got a treat. The songwriter and performer released his latest single, “Sneakin’ Around,” the latest track released from his new studio LP, Black Bayou, which will drop on October 27 via Dan Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound label. 9. Cordae
Grammy- and Emmy-winning rapper Cordae released his latest single, the new song “Make Up Your Mind.” Fans can check out the new, lively, entertaining work from one of the most important rising voices in the genre below.
10. Katelyn Tarver
Lilting singer Katelyn Tarver released her latest single, the heart-on-her-sleeve, acoustic-driven song “Parallel Universe.” The song wonders about possibilities, about doing things differently.
11. Mr. Greg and Cass McCombs
The duo Mr. Greg and Cass McCombs (aka Cass McCombs & Greg Gardner) released their newest song “Friends from All Around the World (Hello Version)” from their album Mr. Greg & Cass McCombs Sing and Play New Folk Songs for Children, set to drop on August 18 via Smithsonian Folkways.
12. Zoee
Country songwriter and performer Zoee released her debut EP, Waves. With it comes Zoee’s single, “Whatever It Takes,” which finds the artist telling her story of traveling all around the globe before ending up in Nashville and finding a home. Check out the new work from the refreshing artist below.
13. Saweetie
Saweetie is back! Last week, the bodacious rapper released the new song, “Birthday.” And this week she released the new offering, “Shot O’Clock.” Both songs feature her knack for spittin’ as well as a clear focus for songs with relatable themes. Check out the eyebrow raising new video here below.
