Rough Trade will release the latest album from talented illustrator and anti-folkie Jeffrey Lewis, ‘Em Are I, on May 19. The album, recorded with backing band the Junkyard, features a guest appearance from Dinosaur Jr. frontman J Mascis. Lewis’s quirky, rambling compositions have earned him comparisons to Woody Guthrie and Woody Allen.

One new track, “If Life Exists?”, features the lyrics “it’s hard to get too bored / when you pick the right two chords / and you keep on strumming / as if you don’t know what’s coming.”
Mojo Magazine gives the album 4 out of five stars, calling it “a brilliant modern singer-songwriter record, full of wit and musical variation.”
