PBS has made available never-before-seen interview footage with the late Lou Reed as part of Blank on Blank, an interview series that aims to find lost or rarely seen interviews with famous figures.

In the following clip, Reed shares his less-than-positive feelings about other musicians and bands that came up around the time of The Velvet Underground. His feelings on the Beatles were especially harsh: “I never liked the Beatles,” he said. “I thought they were garbage. If you say, ‘Who did you like?’ I liked nobody.”

He also discusses his feelings on shotguns, college students and the public’s reaction to the famous Velvet Underground song “Heroin.”
