Patti Smith, The Roots, and Aimee Mann are among the artists banding together to honor Neil Young at a special tribute concert at New York’s Carnegie Hall. The event, which will take place on February 10, 2011, will also feature Keller Williams, Cowboy Junkies, Larry Campbell, Shawn Colvin, Vernon Reed, Mason Jennings, Betty Lavette, DeVotchKa, and Bebel Gilberto, with more artists expected to be announced soon.

The concert, the 7th in a series that has featured the music of Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen, is presented by Michael Dorf, and will raise money for the following music education programs: The American Symphony Orchestra Music Notes, Church Street School of Music, Young Audiences, Music Unites All-Youth Choir, The Pinwheel Project, and FIKS (Fixing Instruments for Kids in Schools).

“Our decision to honor the music of Neil Young at Carnegie Hall generated instant, tremendous feedback,” says Dorf. “We’ve already sold a significant number of tickets and premium packages, and we can’t wait to share this incredible evening of music.”
