Neil Young prizes three things above all else: spontaneity, loud guitars, and things that have wheels on them. In the 90s, it was model trains. These days, it’s electric cars.
On April 7th, the godfather of grunge will release Fork In the Road, a concept album centered around his Linc Volt electric car project. Young and electric car guru Jonathan Goodwin, who Young toasts on the track “Johnny Magic,” spent much of 2008 working on the prototype automobile to help combat our global energy crisis.
All other songs on the album saw the light of day on Young’s epic 2008 tour. Audience reactions were decidedly mixed. Perhaps they sound better when you’re driving.
Here’s the track list for Fork in the Road:
“When Worlds Collide”
“Fuel Line”
“Just Singing A Song”
“Johnny Magic”
“Cough Up The Bucks”
“Get Behind The Wheel”
“Off The Road”
“Hit The Road”
“Light A Candle”
“Fork In The Road”
