Check out this cool video from Washington, DC Americana act The Riverbreaks from their excellent new album Wildfire.
“Tell The Girls” is a rootsy dance number, the kind you want to stomp your feet and clap your hands to. For the video, Riverbreaks created their own version of animation with an accelerated view of an artist drawing out sketches to illustrate the song.
“I wrote the first draft of ‘Tell the Girls’ in Costa Rica after playing with a couple old musicians on a farm,” vocalist /rhythm guitarist Ryan Bailey tells us. “Later, I set the song in the coves of Appalachia, which are gorgeous, but also a little spooky. The idea behind ‘Tell the Girls’ is a boot-stomping, moonlit dance party in the woods. Rachel Briggs, the artist, was really able to capture the essence of the song with her drawings.”
Wildfire is the second album from The Riverbreaks, following 2011’s Get You Right. The new record was produced by Chris Stamey (The dB’s) atModern Recording in Chapel Hill, NC. Watch the video below.
