Music Community Reacts to Nashville School Shooting

A female shooter opened fire at a private Christian school in Nashville on Monday (March 27) killing three children and three adults, according to the Tennessean.

Authorities have not released the names or ages of the victims, but the school services preschool students through sixth graders. The woman, also not-yet-identified, entered the school with two assault rifles and a handgun and was fatally shot by Metro Nashville police officers.

“The police department response was swift,” MNPD spokesperson Don Aaron told reporters. “They heard shots coming from the second level. They immediately went to the gunfire. When the officers got to the second level, they saw a shooter, a female, who was firing. The officers engaged her. She was fatally shot by responding police officers.”
