Morgan Wallen Knocked Off the Top of the Charts By… Morgan Wallen

When it comes to Morgan Wallen, the country singer seems to only know how to make hit songs. Since breaking into the music industry back in 2014, Wallen produced three studio albums. His last, One Thing at a Time, hit shelves just last year. He even helmed the One Night at a Time World Tour alongside Ernest, Hardy, and Parker McCollum. Holding numerous rewards, it seems 2024 is bringing yet more success Wallen’s way as he recently landed the No. 1 spot for his song “Cowgirls.”  

Gaining the No. 1 position on Country Airplay is often a dream of many country singers, but for Wallen, it is just another day in the studio. Before releasing “Cowgirls”, on which he collaborated with Ernest, he worked with Post Malone on the song “I Had Some Help.” And for those who might not know, that song also landed No.1. It was the song that “Cowgirls” bumped out of the top position. With Wallen dominating the charts, it seems his only competition is himself. 

Since the song was released, Wallen watched as the video brought in more than 47 million views. And that was just the start as fans loved the song. “Just when I thought country music was at an all-time low.. Morgan Wallen comes along and changes everything for me..I love..love..love his music.” One person insisted, “This song is soooo underrated. That guitar picking in the beginning with the 808’s sounds so clean, love this entire song! Ernest killed it too, he’s awesome.”

2024 Not All That Great For Morgan Wallen

While Wallen is having a great year, it wasn’t all No. 1 hits as he found himself on the wrong side of the law back in April. Throwing a chair off the rooftop of Chief’s Bar, owned by Eric Church, the singer was arrested. 

Ashamed of his actions on that night, Wallen released a statement, reading, “I didn’t feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks. I’ve touched base with Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chief’s. I’m not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility. I have the utmost respect for the officers working every day to keep us all safe. Regarding my tour, there will be no change.” 

While dealing with the legal system, Wallen continues to charge ahead, taking over country music with each new song.
