Hurricane Helene has made a disastrously tragic mark on a large part of the American South, and states such as North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and Florida have been heavily impacted by the tropical storm’s devastating path. Families are without water, food, and electricity, and according to the Associated Press, a total of 121 people have passed due to the storm.

Organizations such as the Red Cross, The Coast Guard, and FEMA have all had a significant impact on the ongoing relief. However, they could always use more help and it seems Morgan Wallen is aware of that fact. Today, Wallen and the Morgan Wallen Foundation generously donated $500,00 to the Red Cross for Hurricane Helene relief.

Morgan Wallen’s Southern Roots and Foundation

Being an East Tennessee native, Wallen noticed the responsibility he had to deliver care for his community and others like it. That being so, the donation aims to help families and individuals in any way the Red Cross sees fit. Wallen did not comment on the donation. However, Trevor Riggin, Red Cross’ National President for Humanitarian Services, stated:

“We can’t thank Morgan Wallen enough for his heart and generous $500,000 donation to impact help on the ground now in the areas affected by Hurricane Helene, including his beloved East Tennessee.”

This is not Wallen’s first time utilizing his wealth and notoriety for the greater good, as the country music star’s foundation has donated to a plethora of different causes. Some of those other initiatives include The Salvation Army, Habitat For Humanity of Greater Nashville, and Make-A-Wish. Although, given the location of this natural disaster, it seems this donation hits close to home for Wallen.

A Call For Others

In addition to Wallen’s donation being a selfless deed, it also is a call for others who have the resources and funds to donate to the cause as well. Other notable names providing aid to the relief initiative include former Nascar driver, Greg Biffle, Atlanta Falcons owner, Arthur Blank, and Carolina Panthers owner, David Tepper.

In all, Morgan Wallen’s foundation and donation will surely provide some beneficial resources to the daunting task at hand. Furthermore and hopefully, his donation will incite a domino effect that will lead to more donations and aid directed towards Hurricane Helene relief.
