In March, Capitol Records released expanded editions of Radiohead’s first three albums, Pablo Honey, The Bends and OK Computer. Each reissue came with the original album and a second disc filled with B-sides, live songs, and demos. A Special Collectors Edition also included an additional DVD, featuring music videos and TV and concert performances from 1993-1997, spanning each album’s original release date.
While Radiohead is no longer under contract to Capitol Records, the record company owns the band’s music catalog, up to their latest release, 2007’s In Rainbows Hoping to profit from this holding, Capitol will rerelease the other three Radiohead albums in its catalog on August 25. The expanded versions of Kid A, Amnesiac and Hail to the Thief will similarly include one original disc with a second disc filled with extras from the early 2000s. For example, Kid A will feature a second disc with material from a BBC Radio One session in 2000 and live recordings from Canal+ Studios. In addition to the expanded albums, Capitol will also release a Special Collectors Edition containing a DVD of live material and music videos.
