The first round of 2010 CMA Award nominations have been announced — the second round will come tomorrow, when country stars Dierks Bentley and Miranda Lambert appear on Good Morning America. Lambert leads the nominees, with two songs (“The House That Built Me” and “White Liar”) garnering five nominations.
The Awards show, which airs November 10 from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, will be a night of firsts. “We are continuing a promising trend we saw last year with several artists receiving their first CMA Awards nomination or making a debut in a new category,” says CMA Chief Executive Officer Steve Moore. “The infusion of fresh faces is great for the format and speaks to the strength and future of Country Music.”
