In honor of her upcoming album, Endless Summer Vacation, Cyrus is presenting the music in a special way by partnering with Disney+ for Miley Cyrus ‒ Endless Summer Vacation (Backyard Sessions). During the special, Cyrus will perform songs off her album of the same name, including chart-topping lead single “Flowers,” and seven other unheard tracks.
She’ll also perform one of her signature hits and do a collaboration with Canadian singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright. The show will include an interview with Cyrus filmed in the historic home in Los Angeles that was once owned by Frank Sinatra. It’s also the location Cyrus filmed the video for “Flowers.”
“With this special, Miley, who also serves as executive producer, opens the door to audiences around the world, providing insight into her new album and the person she is today,” according to a press release. “Flowers” broke records upon its release in January 2023, becoming the most streamed song in a single week on Spotify, a feat it accomplished two weeks in a row, and hit No. 1 in multiple countries, including the Billboard Hot 100.
“Thankful that Flowers is Number 1 around the world,” Cyrus previously shared. “This song is dedicated to my fans & the steadfast self love I wish for each of you. Forever grateful, Miley.”
Backyard Sessions gets its name from an online series Cyrus launched in 2012. Over the years, she’s performed songs ranging from a viral cover of “Jolene” by her godmother Dolly Parton, to more recent releases like “Midnight Sky” and “Plastic Hearts” off her 2020 album, Plastic Hearts. She’s also covered Britney Spears’ “Gimme More,” “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover” by Paul Simon and more.
Endless Summer Vacation drops on March 10. Backyard Sessions will stream on the same day on Disney+ beginning at 1 p.m. ET.
