The video shows her wearing a unicorn onesie and Grande in a mouse getup while sitting next to each other on an inflatable green couch surrounded by toadstools and plush flowers and unicorn pillows. “I was flirting with her and she was a little scared,” the “Wrecking Ball” singer joked, adding with a smile, “We were having fun.”
Her tone turned sentimental as she reflected upon their many years of friendship that dates back nearly a decade when they met at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards. “Ariana’s a real friend,” Cyrus asserted. “There’s never been a time where I’ve asked her to do something that was important to me that she didn’t come through, and same thing for me with her.”
The superstar pals have crossed paths many times over the years. The two teamed up with Lana Del Rey for “Don’t Call Me Angel” which was released as the lead single from the soundtrack for the 2019 adaptation of Charlie’s Angels. Cyrus also performed at Grande’s benefit concert, One Love Manchester, in 2017 that Grande put together to raise money for the victims of the tragic suicide bombing that took place after her show at Manchester Arena in May 2017 that killed 22 people and injured more than 1,000 others. Cyrus performed multiple songs at the event, including a duet with Grande on “Don’t Dream It’s Over.”
