Mick Jagger Takes in Barcelona as The Rolling Stones Partner with Football Club

Occasionally, before an important event in a big-name city, The Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger is known to take a stroll around the area’s streets and enjoy the local sights. A couple of years ago it was in the American heartland having a beer in a pub. This weekend, it was the streets of Barcelona.

Jagger shared the news of his sojourn through Barcelona via his social media account on X (formerly Twitter), offering fans a glimpse at his travels through photos. In one, he can be seen in front of tourist T-shirts that read, “I <3 Milfs” and “I <3 Big Boobs.” See the cheeky photos below.

The trek around the Spanish city came as Jagger and his compatriot in The Rolling Stones, Ronnie Wood, cheered on the city’s football club as it took on the famed Real Madrid team. For the game, Barcelona wore jerseys that showcased the ‘Stones iconic “hot lips” logo.

Wood and Jagger were in attendance Saturday (October 28) at Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium to check the contest. The event came just days after The Rolling Stones released their latest album, the 12-track Hackney Diamonds, which dropped on October 20.

Humorously, the player for Madrid who scored the game-winning goal, Jude Bellingham, posted on social media that he was more of a Beatles fan, poking fun at Barcelona’s musical partner. Bellingham shared an image of his soccer team looking like The Beatles on the cover of Abbey Road. Real Madrid fans are also known to serenade the player with “Hey Jude.” His team also shared on social media that Bellingham said, “The Beatles were always my favorite band.”

But all jokes aside, the soccer match, known as the “clasico” game between Madrid and Barcelona is one of the must-see events on the calendar. It seemed like the classic rockers Jagger and Wood had a fantastic time at the event, despite the outcome.
