While having explored numerous genres throughout his career on stage, Marc Anthony found his home in salsa. Considered the top-selling salsa artist of all time, the singer sold more than 12 million albums worldwide and even won four Grammy Awards. Thanks to his success in music, Anthony is worth an impressive $80 million. But recently, tragedy struck when firefighters struggled to contain a blazing fire that appeared to engulf his property in the Dominican Republic, completely incinerating the roof of the home.

Back in 2014, Anthony and his former wife, Shannon De Lima, decided to purchase a house in the Dominican Republic. Calling the property “El Oasis”, the home is more of a mansion as it can sleep 24 people. It also comes with numerous pavilions, cabanas, and even two swimming pools. According to a representative for Anthony, who spoke with TMZ, the fire originated on a portion of the property with bungalows. The rep added that no damage was done to the main house. Thankfully, firefighters quickly arrived at the scene and started to extinguish the blaze.
Marc Anthony Struggles With A History Of Fires
As for Anthony and his wife, Nadia Ferreira, and their six children, reports revealed that nobody was at the property at the time other than staff. Able to make it to safety, no staff was injured during the fire.
Although able to rebuild El Oasis to his liking, this isn’t the first time Anthony had an issue with fire. Back in 2019, over 40 firefighters struggled to contain a fire that appeared to cripple Anthony’s 120-foot yacht that was sitting in a Miami marina.
Watching the yacht capsize, the firefighters fought the blaze for more than two hours. Again, a representative revealed that the boat sat vacant at the time. With Anthony and the staff safe from the yacht fire, the cause of the blaze remained unknown at the time.
Outside of his history with fire, Anthony continues to expand his stardom as he released his 11th studio album, Muevense, back in April. Just a month after its release, the singer also launched his Sirius XM Channel, Muevense radio.
