Powerhouse vocalist Maggie Rose has shared a new single, “Underestimate Me.” Like much of the singer’s music, there is a blues tinge to this track. By the end of the song, the instrumentation explodes into a raucous celebration.

Co-written by Rose, Chris Gelbuda, and Henry Brill, the song tackles the notion that women are often underestimated. According to Rose, that can actually work in their favor.

“I always ask women, ‘What’s your superpower,’” Rose said in a statement. “Many of them say that they feel being underestimated is their superpower because they just blow people’s expectations out of the water. It’s a song for people to wake up and brush their teeth to in the morning when they’re trying to gas themselves up for a good day.”

To help usher in the enticing new track, Rose has shared an accompanying music video. The visual bolsters the song’s spirit with sweeping shots of Nashville’s cityscape alongside stark black-and-white images.
On top of her new music, Rose is currently out on the road. The singer-songwriter has dates slated through the remainder of the year. Find the full list, below.
“Underestimate Me” follows a cover of “These Days” with Devon Allman.
“It’s a phenomenal song and Gregg did such a great job reimagining it,” Rose told American Songwriter of the cover. “When I suggested it to Devon, he thought it might be easier for him to cover because his dad didn’t write it. It was less daunting. We were paying tribute to his love for the song while doing something fun and creative together.”
