Lilly Hiatt, “Young Black Rose” (Song Premiere)

Lilly Hiatt is a recording artist for the newly minted Normaltown Records and the daughter of celebrated singer-songwriter John Hiatt.

Let Down, her debut album with her band The Dropped Ponies, was produced by Doug Lancio (Patty Griffin, Gretchen Peters) and is due October 23. Check out the impressive album track “Young Black Rose” below.

“Waylon Jennings wrote a great song called “Black Rose,” the Nashville-based Hiatt says.”When I first heard it, I felt instantly akin to the defiant narrator. I wrote this tune as a response, hinting that women can be devious too.”
