Lil Durk is putting the finishing touches on his upcoming album The Voice 2.0. A sequel to his 2020 studio album, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and is now platinum certified, 2.0 could include some fascinating collaborations.

On his Instagram story Thursday (April 13), the Chicago icon reached out to SZA, asking her if she would want to give him a feature verse for a new song of his. Emphasizing how special of an artist he feels she is, Durk he explained why he needs her on The Voice 2.0.
“@Sza the goat y’all better not sleep or get blind every female every car every sale she really her… I need you on my album ASAP a hit not a regular song. Go tag SZA blow her shit down tell her Smurk need her,” he wrote.
Along with SZA, Durk recently voiced that a joint track with J. Cole could be on the horizon as well. Speaking with Amazon Music at Dreamville Fest hosted by Cole’s label, Durk said they’ve already hit the studio together.
“I was gonna do (the festival) anyways,” he said. “I wanted to do it anyway getting to the festival world, but me and J. Cole cooking up something too. We’re just vibing, working, you know what I’m saying?”
In the midst of this, even with these two superstar feature verses still pending, Lil Durk claimed he had basically finished putting together 2.0 on April 13. Using his Instagram story, which he evidently does often to communicate with fans, Durk said while in the studio that the album is ready to go.
“This bi$ch done without half the help I been asking for,” he wrote. “Let’s goooooo sorry I ain’t been connecting to fans I’m almost healed.”
Perhaps the 30-year-old will release the version of the album he currently has, and could add features like SZA later on to a deluxe version. Durk and SZA have never worked together before, although he has made music with other female pop stars like Megan Thee Stallion and Summer Walker. But, any collaborative effort from these two would surely garner massive charting and streaming success.
