Langerado is on the move. The popular music festival will journey to Miami’s Bicentennial Park on the Biscayne Bay. The upcoming festival will be held March 6-8 and will showcase some 60 artists as well as a variety of genres on four stages. This year’s line up will be announced in early November. Past performers include R.E.M., Of Montreal, Drive By Truckers, Ben Folds, 311, Matisyahu, The Wailers, Donavon Frankenreiter, and a slew of other great live acts.

Started by Ethan Schwartz and Mark Brown in 2003, this is the festival’s fifth move since its debut as a daylong festival at a fair ground in Ft. Lauderdale. Last year the festival was hosted at the Seminole Big Cypress Indian Reservation in the Everglades and before that, Markham Park.

The change in location is hoped to both boost and accommodate the festival’s booming attendance rate, which has grown by about 50 percent each year. This year’s attendance is expected to be around 35,000 people per day, the largest in its history. The venue isn’t the only change this year, though. Mark Brown, one of the festival’s co-producers, has been steadily diversifying the lineup over the past few years which, he says, was more “jam-band oriented” in the beginning.

Weekend passes will be around $200. For more information on lineup, ticket prices, and all things Langerado, head over to langerado.com.
