Lainey Wilson has been revealed as the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Halftime Show performer, following in the footsteps of Dolly Parton’s iconic performance last year. The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Kick Off during halftime is often used to ring in the holiday season, calling an official end to fall and ushering in Christmastime for those who celebrate. Now, Lainey Wilson has the honor of ringing that bell.

In a video posted to the Dallas Cowboys’ social media, Wilson joined the famed Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders to announce her involvement. Dressed in a sparkly blue vest with matching bell bottoms, a Salvation Army patch on the lapel, and a blue cowboy hat, Wilson emerged from the group of cheerleaders and made the announcement, sharing details.
“Lainey Wilson here,” she began, “training to be an honorary Dallas Cowboys cheerleader or the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Kick Off halftime show. You might know me for my bell bottoms, but I want to be known for bell ringing too!”
She continued, “I am so excited to announce that I have teamed up with the Salvation Army to love beyond the holidays and make a difference in our communities all year round.” She then joined the cheerleaders in an iconic can-can line, kicking her bell bottoms in the air in an impressive attempt.

Wilson continued as she high-kicked, “Tune in to watch me and a special guest this Thanksgiving on Fox. We’re going to kick off the giving season right.” As the cheerleaders struck their poses after their high kicks, Lainey Wilson bent over, clutching her back as if she was winded.
“Am I the first person to do that in bell bottoms?” she asked the cheerleader next to her, who replied, “I think you are.” Wilson took a breath, eyes wide, and then tipped her hat with a smile.
Lainey Wilson follows in some iconic footsteps from last year, as Dolly Parton took the stage in her own Dallas Cowboys cheerleader uniform, complete with platform heels, to perform. She went viral for her look and her performance, and while some thought it was a bit much, the majority of her fans were overwhelmingly supportive. Will Lainey Wilson take the stage in a cheerleader uniform as well? We can say with confidence, not unless they make it in bell bottoms.
