Update:

On August 1, Kings Of Leon posted the following message on their website: “We are so sorry to say Kings of Leon are cancelling their entire US tour due to Caleb Followill suffering from vocal issues and exhaustion.

The band is devastated, but in order to give their fans the shows they deserve, they need to take this break. Unfortunately, the US dates cannot be rescheduled due to the band’s international tour schedule.”

Halfway into Kings of Leons’ performance at Dallas’s Gexa Engery Pavillion on Friday, singer Caleb Followill stopped the show, complaining of heat exhaustion.

“My voice is completely 100-percent wrong, I’m sorry,” he apologized. “I’m about to fall down here because I’m so goddamn hot…I’m gonna go backstage for a second. I’m gonna vomit, I’m gonna drink a beer and I’m gonna come back out here and I’m gonna play three more songs.”

Followill did not return to the stage. “We are so unbelievably sorry—there’s no words right now,” guitarist Jared Followill told the crowd. “Caleb’s just maybe a little unfit to play the rest of the show. I know you guys f–king hate us…It’s really not our fault. We will be back as soon as possible…F–king hate Caleb, not us.”

Sources say temperatures that night were in the 90s.

Jared Followill later tweeted: “I love our fans so much. I know you guys aren’t stupid. I can’t lie. There are problems in our band bigger than not drinking enough Gatorade.”

He also wrote: “So sorry Dallas, your heat got the best of a few of us. I’m so sorry for the inconvenience of all this bullsh-t. We’ll be back soon.”

The band’s show tonight in Houston has also been canceled.  The Kings vow to return to Dallas on September 21, and Houston on September 22.

The occasion comes almost exactly a year after Kings of Leon cancelled a show due to pigeons.
