On Wednesday afternoon (March 8), the 39-year-old took to Instagram Live to give his fans multiple updates regarding his upcoming music. While giving strong sentiments about a new album he’s currently crafting, the Cleveland emcee asserted that the currently untitled project will be the best in 2023.
“I’ve never made a project this powerful before in my life,” he said. “And you know, sitting and listening to these mixes, I just know that this shit is going to move you. Y’all are going to fuck with this shit in such a major way, and I’m so fuckin’ excited. I just want to get on here and let y’all know that I’m not gonna let y’all down. This is gonna be the album of the year right now. I’m not paying, this is not a fuckin’ joke. Tell everybody you fuckin’ know.”

Later in the live session, Cudi confirmed that the rollout for the LP should start in June with a lead single, which is also currently untitled. “June. The first single is happening June 1,” he said. “This isn’t a fuckin’ game, this shit is going down. Alright? I’m back.”
When he says he’s back, Cudi is referring to this being his first project since Entergalactic in September 2022. The tape accompanied his animated Netflix special under the same name and served as both the film’s soundtrack and his eighth studio album. However, Cudi’s last stand-alone album came over two years ago, when he completed his Man On the Moon trilogy with MOtM III: The Chosen in late 2020.
Directly after the live session ended, Cudi tweeted out more updates for the album. Along with announcing that he’d direct the music video for the June single, he doubled down on how special he believes the LP will be. “I truly have to say…u ain’t heard me like this before,” he tweeted.
This bombardment of information from Cudi comes just a few weeks after he tweeted about his “new chapter.” First confirming the album and single, he also confirmed a world tour for 2024, which would come two years after his To The Moon world tour with Denzel Curry and 070 Shake.
Kid Cudi is gearing up for a strong second half of the year, and he insists that his fans buckle up for the ride.
