Kesha Announces 10-Year Plan to “Dismantle” The Music Industry By Revealing “Dark Secrets”

It can likely be unanimously decided that Kesha’s career has seen its fair share of trials and tribulations. Between her legal battles with Dr. Luke and the abrupt fall of her career, Kesha has certainly been through the wringer of the music industry. That being so, Kesha recently announced her 10-year plan to “dismantle” the music industry “piece by piece.”

Despite not knowing the direct source of her newfound agency. Kesha spoke with Elle revealing her motivations for getting back at the industry. In essence, Kesha seeks retribution and in consequence, protection for future female artists. It’s a daunting task, but the most admirable typically are. Kesha’s ambitious plan, if successful, will surely make some major shifts within the industry. Though, for now, all one can do is wait.

From Contractual Injustice to Musical Protection: Kesha’s Extensive Plan

There is a reason Kesha put a timestamp on her plan, as the magnitude of the change she hopes to incite will surely take 10 years if not longer. Given her conviction on the matter, it seems if this doesn’t happen in 10 years she’ll still pursue the justice she believes folks deserve.

She articulated her passion to the publication stating, “The music industry should be f— terrified of me. Because I’m about to make some major moves and shift this shit” and “I really want to dismantle it piece by piece and shine light into every corner. I hope my legacy is making sure it never happens to anybody ever again.”

Her motivation is specific and doesn’t just aim to tear down the industry for her own sake. She expanded on her comment by saying, “I do have a sense of feeling protective of young women in music.” The protection she speaks of is due to her not believing “in ownership in perpetuity of anyone, anything, on any level, in any business.” She closed out her statement by saying, “That should not be something a human being can commit to.”

Her New Sense of Freedom

Between this interview and her vulnerable shows, such as the one at the Ryman last November, the public knows Kesha is on her comeback tour. That being said, it seems becoming an activist is part of that journey. She told Elle, “I enjoy feeling my power, which hasn’t been available to me for a really long time, and I’d love to give that gift to others if I can.”

Thus, it seems Kesha’s liberation aims to not only help her but also the other musicians possibly going through something similar. Now armed with a new motivation and seemingly nothing to lose, Kesha is planning on making waves. She closed out her interview threatening those in the wrong. She fiercely said, “The old guard, they’re falling” and “Those of you with deep, dark secrets, you better f— run.”
