“Thank you so much for the top global K-Pop song for ‘Seven,’” he began. “It’s truly an honor, [and] it’s very hard to express my gratitude in words. Thank you ARMY and everyone who loved this song. Without you, I couldn’t have gotten this amazing award. While working on ‘Seven’ I hoped everyone could enjoy this track, so the fact that I won this category means a lot to me.”

He concluded, “I’m so glad to share great music with everyone, and thank you again Billboard for this award.” Other K-pop awards went to NewJeans for Best K-Pop Duo/Group and StrayKids for Best K-Pop Album with 5 Stars. Jungkook was up against Fifty Fifty with “Cupid,” Jimin with “Like Crazy,” and NewJeans, who were nominated twice with “Ditto” and “OMG.”

Recently, Jungkook made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where Fallon revealed the news “Seven” had gone Platinum an hour before, much to Jungkook’s surprise. When asked if he had envisioned this success for himself, he answered, in his native Korean, “I was confident, but this is beyond my imagination. And I am very grateful to [the fanbase] ARMY, because if it was not for ARMY this wouldn’t be possible.”

Jungkook has also reached several other milestones, such as BTS being nominated for five Grammys, “Seven” receiving a history-making amount of streams in the shortest amount of time, and replacing himself on the Spotify list of most streamed songs in the world. He has fans all over the world, but these achievements seem to have cemented his American fame.
