Jon Langford’s Life in Music

Videos by American Songwriter

Not to drool all over Pitchfork today, but they’ve just launched an excellent new feature, 5-10-15-20, where artists detail songs that were important to them over the course of their lives, in five year intervals. The first to sign up was Mekons/Waco Brothers frontman (and visual artist) Jon Langford, who at 51 admits he’s three times the age of the site’s average reader. Langford ruminates on his love for Helen Shapiro and Roxy Music, and explains how he begrudgingly accepted country music, Bruce Springsteen, and Led Zeppelin into his life.

It’s well worth the read.
