The lyrical legacy of songwriting icon John Prine will continue to live on through the second annual You Got Gold: Celebrating the Songs of John Prine event, hosted by the Prine family this October in Nashville. The three-day celebration benefits The Hello in There Foundation, a Prine family charity that pays homage to the acclaimed career and extensive musical community Prine created over the past 50 years.

“The time I spent with John on the road made one thing very clear – the community he helped create was always, and remains, at the heart of the music and the work we continue to do every day,” Prine’s wife, Fiona Prine, said in a release. “I’m so happy that ‘You Got Gold’ will now become an annual event to ensure that we maintain that connection and grow our beloved community. I look forward to seeing everyone back in Nashville this October, to celebrate John’s songs and help further the work of the Hello in There Foundation.”

The inaugural You Got Gold set of shows raised $500,000 for The Hello in There Foundation. The event also attracted numerous esteemed musicians to perform, such as Tyler Childers, Jason Isbell, Bob Weir, Emmylou Harris, Brandi Carlile, and many more.

The 2023 event features shows in October at various locations in Nashville. The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s CMA Theater will host the first event on October 8. The Basement East show follows on October 9, with Ryman Auditorium concluding the concerts on October 10 (Prine’s birthday). Similar to last year, all performances will include yet another cast of surprise artists.

In addition to all proceeds going to The Hello in There Foundation, the show at the CMA Theater will also benefit the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s “Words & Music” program.

Tickets will be available for purchase starting Friday, June 30 at 10:00 am CT. All further details can be found HERE.
