Jimmy Page is set to release his first autobiography. However, don’t expect any words of wisdom from the Led Zeppelin legend—it’s a 500-page collection of more than 650 photographs. Limited to 2,500 autographed copies, the hand-bound books are available for preorder at £445 each (approximately $685), shipping and handling not included.
Page worked closely with specialty publishing house Genesis to design the book. Each copy is bound in a specific shade of midnight blue leather and is packaged in a matching slipcase. The front and back covers feature laser-cut portraits of Page in translucent Perspex. Additionally, “A specially created marbled end paper lines the interior with a blend of midnight blues, blacks and silver.”
The gilt-edged book contains what Page described to the New York Times as a “photographic autobiography,” a hand-selected representation of his career. In typically private form, the majority of the pictures feature Page onstage with Led Zeppelin and the Yardbirds. As for a true tell-all, the wait will be longer. Page doesn’t intend to release a more conventional autobiography until after his death.
