Las Vegas’s The Killers may not be that old of a band, but lead singer Brandon Flowers is branching out anyway. His first solo album, Flamingo, is due out some time this year.
Flamingo sports an impressive list of producers, from Pearl Jam and Bruce Springsteen mainstay Brendan O’Brien, to Daniel Lanois and Stuart Price, the Madonna collaborator who oversaw production on the Killers’ Day & Age.
Flowers tells the NME that the album will feature guest vocals from none other than Jenny Lewis, the Rilo Kiley member and singer-songwriter behind Acid Tounge and other contemporary classics.
“Jenny has helped me out on a couple of songs, and we also got to duet on a song called ‘Hard Enough,’ which turned out great,” Flowers tells the magazine. “She’s always popped into my mind whenever I think about getting a female vocalist involved because she’s a fellow child of Las Vegas, too.”
