Then you whispered in my ear/Said let’s get out of here/We can disappear tonight/What about a midnight trip to Vegas/Just me and you baby/Throw the kids in the back of the pink Cadillac/And us in the bathroom changing, Lopez sings over a sparkling pop melody.

She shared the teaser almost one year to the day that the couple wed on July 16, 2022. Lopez and Affleck famously dated for two years from 2002 to 2004. They were engaged at the end of 2022 and planned to wed in September 2003, however, the wedding was postponed due to the rampant media coverage and was ultimately called off. They rekindled their romance in April 2021.

“Midnight Trip” is another teaser from her upcoming album, This Is Me…Now. It serves as the sequel to her 2002 album, This Is Me…Then, that featured one of her signature hits, “Jenny from the Block.” “Midnight Trip” isn’t the only song dedicated to Affleck on the new album, as it will feature “Dear Ben Pt. II,” the follow-up to “Dear Ben” from Then.

Though no official release date has been announced for the album, Lopez did say in an interview with Spotify in March 2023 that the album is set to arrive this summer.

“The reason we’re here is because I want to capture this moment in time because it is even better than the first time,” she explained to Zane Lowe of Apple Music about how she and Affleck’s love story inspired the album. “We captured me at this moment in time when I was reunited with the love of my life, and we decided we were going to be together forever. The whole message of the album then is this love exists. This is a real love.”

This Is Me…Now marks Lopez’s first album since A.K.A. was released in 2014. It reached No. 1 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and No. 8 on the Billboard 200.
