Jelly Roll’s “Get By” Is This Year’s College Football Anthem—and It’ll Have You Ready To Run through a Wall

Jelly Roll is inescapable these days. Besides taking over country music, the “Need a Favor” singer recently delivered an epic chokeslam in the WWE SummerSlam ring. And that won’t be the last sports crossover for the GRAMMY nominee. ESPN announced Thursday (Aug. 8) that it has chosen a new Jelly Roll song to serve as the anthem for the upcoming 2024-2025 college football season.

There are few American traditions more cherished than college football. And this year’s road to the College Football Playoffs is just around the corner. The season kicks off on ESPN Saturday, Aug. 24. And Jelly Roll’s upcoming song “Get By” will signal that the game is officially on.

I light every bridge I see just to watch it burn, Jelly sings with his trademark gusto in an ESPN promo. If you’d seen all the hell I seen, it’d make your stomach turn.

“There’s a powerful connection between music and college football and for more than a decade, the ESPN college football music anthem has been integral to the promotion of the sport while its release has marked the unofficial start to the season,” said Curtis Friends, ESPN’s vice president of marketing. “Jelly Roll is a talented, award-winning artist whose music speaks to the passion of college football fans across the country, and we’re excited ‘Get By’ will soundtrack the sport all season long.”

For the past 10 seasons, ESPN has partnered with a celebrated artist to create the perfect college football anthem. Jelly Roll joins the ranks of Lauren Alaina, Imagine Dragons, Post Malone and more.

When Do We Get Jelly’s New Album?

Multiple outlets have reported that “Get By” is also a track on Jelly Roll’s forthcoming album. The “Son of a Sinner” singer pivoted to country music with last year’s highly acclaimed Whitsitt Chapel. Fans are hungry for a follow-up, which Holler reported is expected sometime during the second half of this year.
