Jelly Roll Snags His First-Ever No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 with ‘Beautifully Broken’ Debut

Jelly Roll‘s newest album Beautifully Broken was released earlier this month, and with it, he’s grabbed his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200. Not only in the U.S., but also on the U.K. Country Albums chart, making him an international success.

While Jelly Roll has been in the game for a while, this is his first-ever No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200 Albums chart. His previous album, Whitsitt Chapel debuted at No. 1 on the Top Rock and Alternative chart and No. 2 on the Top Country chart. However, debuting at No. 1 on the 200 Albums chart is a bit deal for artists. The chart shows off what’s hot right now across an all-genre list. Last year, Whitsitt Chapel was also No. 3 on the 200 Albums chart, which was a decent beginning to Jelly Roll’s takeover.

Additionally, Jelly Roll kicks off his Beautifully Broken Tour tonight, October 22, in Little Rock, Arkansas. The tour will see Jelly traveling all over the U.S., performing in cities like Knoxville, Atlanta, Detroit, Houston, Austin, and Jacksonville, among others. He recently announced the closing date of the tour as well—a massive homecoming show at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on November 26.

For support on select dates, he’s bringing along ERNEST, Alexandra Kay, Warren Zeiders, Shaboozey, and Allie Colleen. These dates are bound to sell out fast if they haven’t already, so fans should grab their tickets sooner rather than later.

Jelly Roll Grabs First No. 1 Debut on Billboard 200 Albums Chart, Recently Released Deluxe Edition of Beautifully Broken

Jelly has been on a roll lately, adding to his achievements with a deluxe version of Beautifully Broken which he released shortly after the standard album. This extended edition included six new tracks, all collaborative efforts, that expanded the healing, empathetic world of the album.

First up was a duet with Halsey, “Take a Bow.” The next was a song with Keith Urban, “Don’t Want To.” Jelly Roll also worked with ERNEST, rapper Russ, and Skylar Grey. The last track is Jelly’s collab with Machine Gun Kelly, “Lonely Road.” That song, as we know, interpolates John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads.”

Standout tracks from the initial release include “Winning Streak,” which creates a narrative of a man attempting sobriety through 12-step programs. Everybody here’s felt the same defeat / Nobody walks through those doors on a winning streak, Jelly sings, evoking the emotions that often come with hitting rock bottom and trying to bring your self out of it.

Jelly Roll also wrote a beautiful love song for his wife, Bunnie Xo. “Hey Mama” is the epitome of love for Jelly, as he stated previously that he “can’t land a love song” despite being so in love. Finally, though, he feels like he did it.
