The ongoing court case involving producer/rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs has only worsened in recent weeks. Recently, fellow producer/rapper Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter has publicly dismissed a new lawsuit that accuses both musicians of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl back in 2000. Jay-Z claims that the attempt to drag him into Diddy’s legal battles is “blackmail”.

Specifically, Jay-Z claims that the Texas-based attorney spearheading the case, Tony Buzbee, is making a “terrible error” in judgment. Jay-Z tried to preempt the suit by filing legal action of his own against the above-named attorney for extortion earlier in December.
Jay-Z has aggressively denied the allegation against him. He also said that he refused to discuss a settlement because he seeks to “expose [Buzbee] for the fraud [he is] in a VERY public fashion.” You can read the entire statement from Jay-Z via Roc Nation’s social media page below. In the statement, Jay-Z calls the allegations “idiotic”:

Buzbee appears to have responded to the post. He noted that they “will litigate the facts in court, not in the media.”
In a statement provided to NBC News, Jay-Z said that the allegations are “so heinous” that he believes a criminal complaint should be filed and not a civil one.
“Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree?” said Jay-Z. “These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case.”
Why Is Jay-Z Involved in the Diddy Court Case?
Jay-Z was named in the lawsuit this weekend. The case was filed by an unnamed individual against Diddy in October of this year. However, it has just been re-filed to list Jay-Z as Diddy’s co-defendant. The anonymous woman, named in court documents as “Jane Doe”, has accused both musicians of assaulting her when she was a child at an MTV Video Music Awards afterparty in the year 200.
Buzbee has filed a number of lawsuits in the last few months. Each of those suits has protected the victims’ identities and accused Diddy of a laundry list of violent crimes. The above-mentioned suit is the first to include another high-profile name other than Diddy.
Diddy’s legal representatives have called the lawsuits “shameless publicity stunts” and claimed they were “designed to extract payments from celebrities who fear having lies spread about them.”
