Jake Owen has announced his seventh studio album, Loose Cannon. The highly-anticipated record will arrive on June 23.

“There is a full project coming,” Owen told American Songwriter in April. “I’m so all over the map with who I am and what I love that it’s hard to sometimes … In my mind, to be an album, it needs to sound very cohesive. Otherwise, it sounds like a mixtape. But I think now when I go back and listen to it as a whole, I’ve chiseled it down and it’s taken me time to do that.”

The cohesion of the impending record comes from its sun-soaked musicality. A description of Loose Cannon reads, “A collection of summertime staples that tip their hat to classic country rhythms audiences of all generations can crack a cold one to.”

The 16-track record promises to continue Owen’s string of laid-back, feel-good country offerings.

Owen teamed up some of Nashville’s finest songwriters for the record including Ashley Gorley, Brent Cobb, Rodney Clawson, Jessie Jo Dillon, and Luke Laird. He also tapped a number of artist-writers for the project, the likes of Jordan Davis, Devin Dawson, Walker Hayes, Jordan Fletcher, and Hunter Phelps.

“I can’t wait to share this new wave of music with my fans,” Owen said in a statement. “This album is a long time coming and feels like the best version of me. Grab your buddies, put the boat in the water, pour a cold one out, and we’ll catch y’all out on the lake. It’s the best time of year and we’re ready to celebrate.”

To celebrate the album’s announcement, Owen will release four new songs from Loose Cannon, this Friday (May 26). The tracks include “On The Boat Again,” “Solo, Solo,” “Nothing,” and “Hot Truck Beer.” See the full track list, below.
