Just last week, Saturday Night Live kicked off another season. But it wasn’t just any season as the premiere marked the start of season 50. With creator Lorne Michaels already promising a season packed with hilarious moments and some flashbacks to the past, SNL welcomed Jean Smart as host and Jelly Roll as the musical guest. While the premiere featured Jelly Roll performing his new song “Winning Streak”, the cast is preparing for a new episode airing tonight featuring the band Coldplay.

As already mentioned, there is a new episode of SNL airing tonight on NBC. Besides Coldplay taking over as the musical guest for the evening, the hosting duties will go to comedian Nate Bargatze. Making his debut on SNL just last season, the comedian gained praise from fans. And in the newest promo, Bargatze gets a chance to meet some of the new cast members to join SNL. The only problem, he thought he already met them as he revealed three other individuals including a baby.

Coldplay Set To Perform On ‘Saturday Night Live’ As Band Discusses Future
Looking at Coldplay, the band is no stranger to SNL as they performed in Studio 8H several times over the years. But this time, they will take the stage just one day after they released their newest album Moon Music.
Marking the band’s tenth album, singer Chris Martin recently discussed how the band only wanted to make twelve albums. He told People, “We are only going to do 12 proper albums, and that’s real…less is more. And for some of our critics, even less would be even more. It’s really important that we have that limit. There’s only 12 and a half Beatles albums. There’s about the same Bob Marley, so all of our heroes. and also having that limit means that the quality control is so high right now, and for a song to make it, it’s almost impossible, which is great.”
Outside of Bargatze and Coldplay appearing on SNL, fans are already sharing their excitement for the following week as Ariana Grande will host with the iconic Stevie Nicks performing. Don’t miss SNL, airing tonight at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
