Introducing the “Amy Speace Critiques” Web-series

Videos by American Songwriter

Have you ever wanted invaluable feedback on one of your original songs? Well, here’s your chance. Award-winning songwriter and performer Amy Speace — along with the popular marketing/management company Thirty Tigers — is offering the opportunity for songwriters to garner honest, constructive, and insightful feedback about their songs through our Amy Speace Critiques Web-series.

CONTEST DETAILS

Four (4) original songs from four (4) writers will be selected to receive a webcast song critique from Amy (as shown in the video below), which will run on AmericanSongwriter.com.  As Amy explains in the example video below, song critiques will provide constructive criticism on three (3) aspects of the songs (watch the video to see what those are!).

ROCKY MT. GRAND PRIZE

One entrant will also win admission to the Rocky Mt Folks Festival in Lyons, CO, including one camping pass and airfare for one, provided by Rocky Mt Folks Festival and Thirty Tigers.*

EXAMPLE VIDEO OF CRITIQUE

As a special preview, below Speace critiques the Ryan Tanner song “I Never Did My Best,” which won the Grand Prize in the 2010 American  Songwriter Lyric Contest.  This is an example of the type of critique Amy will provide four (4) songwriters who submit to the opportunity.  EDITOR’S NOTE: The buzzing in the background is from the cicadas which were in Nashville last month.  So don’t expect the buzzing in your video critique if you are chosen…

The deadline to enter the contest is July 13, 2011. Winners will be notified by July 24 (updated July 5 for some late entrants who needed more time). The entry fee is $3.99, and participants can enter as many times as they wish. Click below to enter.
