Iconic Atlanta Rapper Rich Homie Quan Dead at 33

Born in Atlanta, Georgia in October 1990, Rich Homie Quan shared a love for music. Eventually finding his way to the studio, the rapper showcased his talent with songs like “Type of Way” and “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh).” Besides landing on the airwaves, Quan eventually released his first studio album Rich as in Spirit. The album gained high praise from fans. But sadly, on September 5, the rapper suddenly passed away at the age of 33. With the cause of death still unknown, fans took a moment to remember the rapper and the music he left behind.

While spending nearly 13 years in the music industry, Quan released only one studio album. But that didn’t stop the rapper from making a name for himself as fans praised his work. He also gained more than a few nominations from the BET Awards, the BET Hip Hop Awards, and the IHeartRadio Music Awards. And besides his discography, the city of Atlanta held the rapper in high regard. At the time of his passing, the Atlanta Hawks basketball team took a moment to remember the rapper. “Rest in power, Rich Homie Quan. A beloved member of our community and a powerful presence in Atlanta’s music world.”

Rich Homie Quan Opens Up About His Struggles In the Music Industry

Thousands of fans paid their respects to the Quan on social media. One person, who apparently got the chance to meet the rapper said, “Rest in peace Rich Homie Quan. Original photo from the rich gang album cover. I shot this in the studio along with thug photo and design the album cover the same night. Them boy was in that studio knocking songs out 24/7 work ethic was knocks between them and all the producers and engineer. What a time. rest up bruh.”

Like any artist, Quan struggled to find his place in the music industry. But unlike others, Quan openly discussed his struggles on more than one occasion. Sharing a video of the rapper discussing his career, one fan explained, “Rich Homie Quan struggled with addiction & his decline in the industry & he was very open about it. The grind of the industry can break anybody. Rest In Perfection.”

While passing away, Quan’s impact on both music and fans left a lasting impression as his music continued to entertain.
