Swifties flocked to New Jersey over the weekend to attend Taylor Swift’s three-day residency at MetLife Stadium. Ticket-holders were surprised when the pop phenomenon invited Ice Spice to the stage to deliver their recently released duet “Karma” on Friday (May 26).

The remix, which includes Swift’s razor-sharp lyrics and Ice Spices’ spit-fire wordplay, lives on Midnights (The Til Dawn Edition) – the extended cut that became available on the same day. Toward the end of Swift’s three-hour set, Ice Spice stepped out to deliver her part of track.

“At the very beginning of the year, when I was just starting to train for this tour, I got reached out to by Ice Spice,” said Swift to the crowd, according to Billboard. “She reached out and said, ‘If you’d ever like to do a collab, I would love to.’ And what she didn’t know at the time is that when I was training for the tour, I was listening to pretty much exclusively just her music every single day. All day.

“S,o I said, ‘Absolutely; when can we do it?’ So we immediately went into the studio, and I just not only fell in love with her but just decided she was the entire future. … I’ve been around so many artists and so many artists just starting out, but I’ve never been around an artist who’s so prepared and curious and focused on what she wants.”

The fast-rising artist then emerged onto the stage. The two interlocked hands and strutted across the massive catwalk, belting the reimagined version. The performance served as the rapper’s largest crowd to date.

Swift also premiered the music video for the mashup to go along with the live debut. Swift sat onstage alongside her backup dancers to watch the clip. The visual transports fans to the early Renaissance and through different eras.

The music video is jammed-packed with easter eggs, which point toward two of her upcoming re-recorded albums. Swifties speculate that 1989 (Taylor’s Version) and Reputation (Taylor’s Version) are next.

Roman numeral numbers that read 1989 appear at the beginning of the clip. In another scene, she sports light blue and black nail polish while holding a latte with the foam art of a clock. The polish is thought to be referring to Reputation. On the other hand, many believe each scene represents the order of re-recordings starting with Fearless and ending with her self-titled debut album.

Ice Spice was not the only surprise on the Eras Tour stop in New Jersey. Swift also brought out her longtime collaborator and producer Jack Antonoff to sing “Getaway Car.” The collaboration came during the Surprise Song segment of the evening. Swift will perform one final show (May 28) in East Rutherford, New Jersey, before heading to Chicago for a three-night appearance.
