“I Don’t Know Two Blake Shelton Songs”: The Time Luke Bryan Hilariously Messed up Shelton’s Song

Fans can count on Luke Bryan for two things: gyrating onstage, and never passing up a jab at Blake Shelton. The country megastars are constantly asserting superiority over one another in various categories—farming, singing, reality TV show hosting, etc. (The “feud” is mainly played up for laughs, as the pair have been friends for more than a decade.) Check out the time Bryan hilariously tried to outperform Shelton on his own song.

Luke Bryan: “I Don’t Know Two Blake Shelton Songs”

During a 2022 show at Resorts World in Las Vegas, Luke Bryan tried to claim victory over his rival once and for all by proving he could sing the Oklahoma native’s songs. Sitting at the piano, the “Mind of a Country Boy” singer began singing Michael Buble’s “Home,” which Shelton covered in 2008.

“Well, that’s a Michael Buble song that Blake stole,” Bryan joked, before taking a crack at the lyrics. After fumbling the first two lines, the five-time Entertainer of the Year admitted, “I don’t know Blake’s s—. Y’all sing it.”

“I don’t know two Blake Shelton songs,” he continued. “What’s a good Blake Shelton song?”

The crowd began shouting suggestions, but Bryan already had his answer. “There isn’t one,” said the “Play It Again” hitmaker with a chuckle.

Blake Shelton’s Latest Dig

Luke Bryan’s playful feud with Blake Shelton is certainly not one-sided. The “Ol Red” singer recently took a swipe at his buddy during his final show of 2024.

Blake Shelton wrapped up his performing for the year last Saturday (Sep. 7) at the Soaring Eagle Casino in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. This time, his special guest was Chayce Beckham. The “23” singer rose to fame in 2021 after winning season 19 of American Idol.

As you likely know, Luke Bryan has served as a judge on Idol since the show’s ABC reboot in 2018. Shelton, who left NBC rival The Voice last year after 23 seasons, told the crowd he wasn’t aware of Beckham’s Idol connection before booking him. He then joked that he doesn’t usually “cross that line” because of that “drunk” Luke Bryan.
