Crowder has signed with Concord Music Publishing in a worldwide co-publishing deal that includes most of his previous songwriting and production work, along with future projects. Crowder is the co-writer behind several of Chris Young’s No. 1 hits, including “I’m Comin’ Over,” “Think of You,” his duet with Cassadee Pope, and “Famous Friends” featuring Kane Brown, along with Florida Georgia Line’s “Long Live” and “I Love My Country.” “Famous Friends” was named the Country Song of the Year at the 2022 ASCAP Awards.
Jon Pardi, Lady A, Jake Owen and Zac Brown Band are among the other artists who’ve cut the Georgia native’s songs. He’s also one of the recipients of the 2022 CMA Triple Play Award for writing three No. 1 songs in the span of a year. As a producer, Crowder has worked on Justin Bieber’s “Yummy (Country Remix)” and Florida Georgia Line’s 2021 album, Life Rolls On, among others.
“I’m excited for this next chapter working alongside a great team at Concord Music Publishing,” Crowder says in a press statement.
“We are incredibly thrilled that we have the honor of representing Corey’s amazing catalog, as well as working by his side for years to come,” adds Brad Kennard, Senior Vice President of A&R at Concord Music Publishing in Nashville. “He is not only preceded by his top-level art and success, but also by his character and integrity. It’s an absolute privilege to welcome Corey to the Concord family.”
In a 2023 interview with American Songwriter, Crowder shared that he felt he “arrived” as a songwriter in 2013 when he got his first cut with The Cadillac Three’s “Tennessee Mojo.”
“I always thought of myself as an artist then, but I’ve kind of merged those worlds,” he explained. “For me, once I gave up the artist’s dream, I got to really dig into the craft, figure out what makes a great song, and how to get there. My first cut is probably when I would assume that I was a songwriter at a professional level.”
