When the Lilith Fair, the traveling music festival that put women in the spotlight, ground to a halt in 1999, there was no such thing as Twitter, and Hillary Clinton had yet to make her bid for the White House. Now the storied festival, which began in 1997, is back, after a 10 year layoff.

Today, the official Lilith 2010 website launches, “revealing the new look and feel of Lilith a decade later,” according to a press release. The website also lists the first set of cities that the Fair will be traveling to, which include New York, Los Angeles, Vancouver, and Toronto. There’s also a London stop: 2010 will mark the first year Lilith Fair goes overseas.

Over 1.5 million fans attended the original Lilith Fair, one of the highest grossing touring festivals in the world. It raised over $10 million dollars for national and local charities. The event was co-founded by Canadian songstress Sarah McLachlan, and featured artists like Sheryl Crow, Christina Aguilera, Erykah Badu, The Dixie Chicks, Missy Elliot, The Pretenders, Nelly Furtado, Jewel, Queen Latifah, Indigo Girls, and Tegan and Sara.
