Here’s Everyone That’s Performing at Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting 2024

One of the most time-honored Yuletide traditions is returning. In December 1931, workers at New York City’s Rockefeller Center pooled their money to purchase a 20-foot Christmas tree. The men then decorated the 20-foot high balsam fir with handmade garlands made by their families. The tree has grown bigger and better each year, as is the celebration. NBC will broadcast the 92nd annual Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting live at 7 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday (Dec. 4.) If you’re tuning in this year, here’s who you’ll see performing.

Kelly Clarkson Returns As Host of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting

After winning the inaugural season of American Idol in 2002, Kelly Clarkson performed during that year’s Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony. More than 20 years later, the Emmy-winning talk show host returned in 2023 to host the event. And Clarkson will return this year as not only host, but also performer.

The “Miss Independent” singer is among a star-studded lineup that includes the Backstreet Boys, Dan + Shay and fellow Idol alum Jennifer Hudson.

Little Big Town will also perform, along with RAYE, Megan Hilty, Coco Jones, Thalia and The Radio City Rockettes.

Hailing from Stockbridge, Massachusetts, this year’s 11-ton Norway spruce spans 74 feet tall and 43 feet wide. Once the switch is flipped, the tree will sparkle with more than 50,000 multi-colored LED lights.

Cher Surprises Kelly Clarkson With Special Gift

If you tuned in for last year’s Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony, you may recall Kelly Clarkson absolutely losing her mind to Cher’s Christmas tree bop, “DJ Play a Christmas Song.”

Recently, the “Believe” singer surprised Clarkson with a pair of bedazzled black gloves during her Tuesday (Dec. 3) guest appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

“Are you f—ing serious?” Clarkson blurted out.
