The last time Heart performed as a band live was in October 2019, when the group wrapped up its Love Alive Tour. Since then, Ann and Nancy have both focused on various solo projects, although in recent months, the Wilson siblings had made it clear that a reunion was brewing.

Earlier this month, Nancy appeared as a surprise guest at Ann’s show with her new solo band Tripsetter in Santa Rosa, California, and strapped on her guitar to play the Heart classic “Barracuda” during the concert’s finale.

In addition, Nancy revealed in an interview with New York’s WBAB radio station in June that she and Ann were writing new music together again.

Ann Wilson released a new studio album, Another Door, with Tripsetter on September 29, and she has upcoming tour dates scheduled with the group spanning from a November 28 show in Fort Wayne, Indiana, through a December 11 concert in Jacksonville, Florida.

Nancy, meanwhile, released her debut solo studio album, You and Me, in 2021. This year she’s been touring with her own solo band, Nancy Wilson’s Heart.

The last Heart studio album, Beautiful Broken, was released in 2016. Heart previously took a hiatus from 2016 to 2019, after Ann’s husband, Dean Wetter, was arrested for allegedly assaulting Nancy’s two sons during a backstage incident at a Heart concert in August of 2016.

In 2019, the sisters teamed up again for the major Love Alive Tour, but in 2022, Nancy revealed that plans for a follow-up trek were shelved after she and Ann disagreed about which other musicians would make up the rest of Heart’s lineup.

2023 marks the 50th anniversary of Heart’s formation, although Nancy didn’t join the band until 1975.
