Husband and wife folk duo Solvents hail from the rainy Pacific Northwest. Listen to “Careless Step,” the lead single from their upcoming album Ghetto Moon, out March 19 on Bee Resin Records. The ghost of a 1960s music legend haunts this one.

“The song was inspired by the life and legacy of Roy Orbison,” explains Solvents’ Jarrod Bramson. “Roy has always been a personal hero of mine. I was reading about all the struggle, pain, and strife that Roy endured through out his life and I wanted to write something about that. This was the first song we recorded for the Ghetto Moon recording session. The basic tracks — guitar, vocals, and violin — were recorded live. It was done in one take, with percussion and Emily’s vocals added later. We recorded it on a 1/4 inch 4 track reel to reel.”
