Dutch musician Amber Arcades has released a cover of Nick Drake’s Pink Moon highlight “Which Will.”

The track was recorded when Arcades (real name Annelotte de Graaf) and her band had a day off in New York City and was based on a version of the cover they’d been performing live. They turn the delicate ballad on its head and make it a indie rocker more in line with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Metric than the solemn Drake original.
“I’m a huge Nick Drake fan,” Arcades said in a release. “There’s something intangible and obscure about his work (and especially the melodies) that I love. I thought it would be interesting to examine how these mysterious melodies would function in a more upbeat musical environment. I like how it turned out to be quite a poppy tune, but the melodies still add this layer of strangeness to it.”
Arcades released her debut album Fading Lines earlier this year on Heavenly Recordings and is currently touring in Europe.
