She gets to count herself among an impressive pack of musicians in the Best New Artist category. Her fellow nominees include Fred Again, Ice Spice, Jelly Roll, Coco Jones, Noah Kahan, Victoria Monét, and The War and Treaty, all of which have made major waves in 2023. Even being included amongst that pack, as many humble artists will tell you, is enough of a win. Of course, taking home the prize will be the ultimate ego stroke, but we will have to wait until next year to figure that out.

“I don’t think I’ll ever get over the shock of the nomination,” Abrams tells American Songwriter of her Grammy nod. “I mostly just feel so honored to get to sit in a room full of my favorite artists and scream for all their success.”

Given the buzz around the Abrams, it’s not out of the realm of possibility to suggest she stands a good chance of taking home the statue.

Her signature bows and lulling vocals have captured the eyes and ears of the pop-listening world. Songs like “I miss you, I’m sorry” and “21” created a foundation for her career. Songs like “Where do we go now?” and “I know it won’t work” have proven she has the chops to make that career enduring.

Being chosen as tour support for Swift’s tour is an automatic leg up. Opening for the biggest artist in the world undoubtedly comes with perks. Even those who weren’t familiar with Abrams before they attended the Eras Tour were sure to walk away with an increased intrigue in the singer. Abrams has several more upcoming dates with Swift as well as festival appearances and solo dates. Find them all, HERE.
