The Voice’s title is singular for a reason. There could be only one winner—until Girl Named Tom arrived on the scene. Small-town Ohio siblings Joshua, Caleb, and Bekah Liechty seamlessly blended harmonies on everything from Glen Campbell’s “Wichita Lineman” to Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida.” And when season 21 wrapped up, the small-town Ohio siblings became the first trio to ever win The Voice under the tutelage of coach Kelly Clarkson.

Three years later, Girl Named Tom recently kicked off their Joy of Christmas Tour on Thursday (Nov. 21) in Nashville. The Voice champions recently spoke to American Songwriter about their accidental Yuletide platform and when fans can expect new music.
Girl Named Tom Is Coming to Town
A day after winning The Voice, Girl Named Tom released their original holiday single “No Snow for Christmas,” which soared to the top of the iTunes Top 200 chart. They followed with their 2022 album One More Christmas, joining Pentatonix on their A Christmas Spectacular Tour.
Last month, the trio dropped two new Christmas songs, “O Holy Night” and “Tonight is Christmas Eve.” Now, they are embarking on their third straight Christmas tour, which they promise will be “our best yet.” The Joy of Christmas Tour wraps up on Dec. 21 in Phoenix, Arizona.
Josh Liechty is quick to point out that Girl Named Tom is not, technically, “a Christmas band.” However, with their mission of bringing harmony to a deeply divided world, “It makes sense for A Girl Named Tom to be involved in the Christmas sphere.”
Don’t expect it to be all merry and bright, however. The Liechty siblings firmly believe in holding space for the full array of emotions that this time of year can often conjure.

“We’re not afraid to dive into the darker, sadder parts of our life,” Josh said. “Holidays are certainly not peace and love and joy and butterflies all the time.”
What’s Next?
The members of Girl Named Tom know that fans have been patiently waiting for original music. And while they can’t provide too many details yet, they are happy to report that a new project is in the works for 2025.
“We’re really proud of the way the songs represent us musically and spiritually,” Caleb said. “It feels like it fits the sillier sides of us, as well as the really deep wells that we have within us.”
Bekah adds that the siblings strove to emulate the songwriters of the ’60s and ’70s. “The raw emotions and little strange lyrics here and there that make you tilt your head,” she said.
