For over 50 years, KISS toured the world, entertaining fans with their rich discography and their elaborate concerts that often shocked audiences. Not remotely afraid of the backlash they received over the decades, Gene Simmons watched as KISS sold over 100 million albums and landed a spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But with KISS ending their time on the stage in 2023, the rockstar recently appeared on Dancing with the Stars. And embracing his persona, Simmons received a great deal of backlash for his comments about the contestants. But again, not new to the backlash, Simmons insisted, “I stand by every word.”

On October 9th, Dancing with the Stars decided to celebrate “Hair Metal Night.” And no celebration would be complete without a rockstar like Simmons. Welcoming him to the show, the singer held nothing back when it came to his thoughts on the night’s performance. A guest judge for the evening, Simmons praised Witney Carson and Danny Amendola, admitting, “It’s difficult to look at you and to figure out which one is more hot, hot, hot. Danny, I’m telling you, you’re right next to somebody, one of the more beautiful women on the planet.”
Gene Simmons Declares “I Had A Great Time”
When speaking about actress Chandler Kinney, Simmons declared, “Chandler, you’ve fogged up my glasses. I don’t know what to tell you. You move me, not just with your gyrations and so on, but your beautiful face and how you were into the emotion of it.”
Although gaining some backlash from fans, Simmons didn’t seem concerned by the comments. Knowing the passion and love behind his words, the icon noted, “I stand by every word I said. I had a great time. The contestants were great. The show was great. Watch the show. It was a lot of fun.”
Pointing to his time on Dancing with the Stars, Simmons wanted to let the episode do the talking. “Everybody’s got something to say. Watch the show. It was a lot of fun. Everybody had a great time.”
