In late June, Neil Young & Crazy Horse canceled their remaining scheduled tour dates because of illness affecting two of the band members. Among Young and his famous backing group’s nixed shows was a September 19 headlining slot at the 2024 Bourbon & Beyond Festival in Louisville, Kentucky.

Now, organizers of the festival have announced that another Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee has stepped in to take Young’s place on the bill… Sting!
The former Police frontman will be performing with his longtime guitarist and collaborator Dominic Miller and Mumford & Sons touring drummer Chris Maas.
“While we will miss Neil Young at Bourbon this year, we’re excited to welcome a music legend, Sting, to the Bourbon & Beyond lineup,” festival promoter Danny Wimmer said in a statement. “We’ve been trying to bring Sting to Bourbon for you since 2018 and it’s an incredible honor to have him join us for what will undoubtedly be our biggest and most unforgettable year ever.”
A video clip featuring a message from Sting about his Bourbon & Beyond performance has been posted on the festival’s social media pages. The clip features Sting, who’s about to head out on stage at one of his recent shows, saying about the festival gig, “Be there. It’s gonna be great.”
