The former home of Johnny Cash’s parents is up for sale on eBay this week. The four-bedroom ranch located near Hendersonville, Tennessee was given to Ray and Carrie Cash in 1969 after they moved back home from California.

Since the couple died, various members of the Cash family, including June and Johnny, have lived there in the past 35 years. The quaint mansion overlooks Old Hickory Lake and is situated across the street from Johnny’s late home, which burned down in 2007 shortly after it’s owners’ passing. Floyd Robinson, a long time friend of the Cash’s, bought the house four years ago and had it renovated to its early ‘70s mystique. Tommy Cash, brother and fellow songwriter to Johnny, said that Robinson had remained intensely faithful to the home’s original owners. “It still had the homeliness that it had when mom and daddy were alive,” Tommy said in a recent interview with The Tennessean. “He’s done a wonderful job of renovating the house.”

Additions include a brand-new recording studio, several of Johnny’s guitars, a precious locket with June and Johnny’s photograph in it, several awards and the original gold record pressing of one of Cash’s biggest singles, “I Walk The Line.” Floyd Robinson, who is moving to Florida for health reasons, started the bidding at $1.4 million dollars. So for all of you songwriters out there with a million dollar song, good luck, showings will be by appointment only.
