Flavor Flav’s “Spirit Is Broken” After Being Kicked Out of Backstreet Boys Dressing Room at Rockefeller Tree Lighting

The Christmas season is officially underway. Just last night, millions tuned in to watch the 2024 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. The night featured performances by Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, and even the Backstreet Boys. Although Christmas is considered a time of giving and compassion, Flavor Flav shared how he was kicked out of the Backstreet Boys dressing room by security.

Throughout the 2024 Summer Olympics Games, Flav became somewhat of a spokesperson for Team USA. No matter the sport, the rapper was always willing to throw his support behind any athlete. Just happy to be cheering on Team USA, he wanted to do the same for the Backstreet Boys. But the night didn’t go as planned as Flav wrote in a now-deleted tweet, “I feel weird … I was invited to the Rockefeller Tree Lighting tonite and I was escorted to see my boys … THE BACKSTREET BOYS … and we were backstage in their dressing room … security came up to me and says @nbc does not want me in this area and I need to leave.”

Flavor Flav Still Spreading Christmas Cheer After Security Incident

Shocked by the stance of NBC, Flav explained how he got mixed singles from the night. “At the same time,,, their social media woman came up and asked to capture social content. What did I ever do to NBC or anyone,,?? all I ever do is try to spread joy and love,,, and I think I did that for NBC at the Olympics.”

Although just wanting to understand what exactly happened, Flav decided to delete his tweet and write, “My spirit is broken.” While security wanted him to leave the area, the rapper didn’t let it ruin his night as he posted a video of himself just feet away from the tree as it lit up the night sky with over 50,000 LEDs.

And apparently, while the security hoped to escort Flav away from the Backstreet Boys, Flav admitted the boy band defended him. When one fan asked if the band supported him and spoke up, the musician replied, “They spoke up for me. They sure did.”
